He was baptized and confirmed in the Memonite faith in 1849. He emigrated from his native country in 1851. He arrived in New York on August 1, 1851, and arrived in Columbus, Ohio on August 6, 1851. He joined the Evangelist Lutheran Church. He was a resident of Franklin County, Ohio. He married a Margaret Kolb. He passed away on September 23, 1889. He had two brothers and two sisters which I am trying to locate history on parents and siblings.
