The Battle was called the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, I think. The moors had a different name for it but it was a decisive battle of a war that eventually drove a dynasty of Moorish kings out of all of europe (except for Granada). I am interested in knowing the lineage prior to Don Martin Alhaja but I don't know where to look. Soon I should be getting a compilation of how I link up to Don Martin Alhaja. I have the stuff from Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca to Don Martin Alhaja but I CAN'T FIND THE INTERNET SOURCE THAT I GOT IT FROM! I believe that I got it off of ancestory.com or in Utah of of the computers in the Mormon genealogy center in person (which has a lot more than you can get from the internet). If you are interested or can share something, then post a message. I remember reading a book that said that Alvar nunez was really into the genealogy thing but I don't remember why the book said it. I also remember reading that Alvar Nunez noticed that the language of the first tribe that he encountered had words similar to Hebrew and that that was how he learned the native tounge so fast (he never mentioned this in his own writings as far as I am aware). I remember that the same book said that he spoke the classic languages (latin, hebrew, greek) and that his brother (Diego??) was a priest. I read this years ago in a library in my grade school but haven't seen this book since. It also said that he had records or writings or something that he had in his home town sealed up until the year 1996. I think that this might have been where the mormons got their genealogy but that would mean that they were opened early and survived the second world war. They were supposed to be in the church near the place where he was raised. Anyway, you have a whole bunch of rumors to sort through. I am still looking for that book I read long ago as well as it's source. If anyone knows about it or it's title, post a message!
