You got it right Robert. It is Ed Baca whose story needed some correcting. The Baca families of New Mexico do come from the same name. Their ancestor was a Cristobal Vaca, son of Juan De Vaca, son of Luis de Vaca who came with Cortez. Eventually, the Cabeza was dropped, later they dropped the De and then later they worte it the way it sounded ... with a B instead of a V.
