Hi Bob,
I have some additional information which I hope will be helpful. I
finally located my Leishman file which was around the house but hidden from
view.
I note that I corresponded with Robert F. and Margaret E. Leishman
from Sherwood,Arkansas back in 1995.Are they your parents? If so, you and my
wife Linda are cousins. I also corresponded with Stephen A. Leishman from
Wilmington,Delaware in 1995. Don Leishman and I correspond regularly and
before Don,I corresponded regularly with his late brother George. Don,George
and my Linda are related so if your related to them,you and Linda are related
as well.
Some tidbits of information I'd like to share with you are: the
marriage date for Elizabeth(Babson)Campbell and Peter Leishman is
Aug.3,1826(vol.2,pg.41-2,Boston directory);the ceremony was performed by Rev.
Samuel Green-the Mormon micro. is 818095,v.2,pg60 1826 at the Ma. state
archives at Columbia Point in Dorchester(Boston).
Alexander Leishman,s. of John and Catherine(Wright), was b. on
Nov10,1859,residence at the time of birth was 18 Genessee St.,Boston,John's
occupation is listed as a painter,father listed as being born in Boston and
mother in Portland,Me.
John Edward Leishman was b. on Nov. 20,1857,residence at the time
of birth was 15 E.Dover St.,parents were John and Catherine,John's occupation
is listed as painter.
Agnes Morrison Norris Leishman was b. on July5,1862,residence at
the time of birth was 103 Ipswich St.,Boston,parents were Alexander and
Jeannette, father was b. in Norton,Ma.,and mother in St. John's(either N.B.
or N.F.),Canada.
Joseph Elmer Leishman was b. July10,1864,res. at time of birth was
3 Osborn Place,Bost.,he was he son of John and Catherine,occupation of father
was painter,father born in Bost.,and mother was b. in Portland,Me.
Effie Norris Leishman was b. on Nov.5,1868,residence was 28
Pleasant St.,Bost.,father was Alexander and mother was Jeanette,Alexander's
occupation is listed as plumber b. in Norton,mother born in N.F.,Can.
Francis Albert Leishman was b. on June5,1866,res. was 12 Genesee
St.,Bost.,parents were John and Catherine,father b. i Bost. was a
painter,mother b. in Portland,Me.,this child died @1yr.3mos.6days of scarlet
fever on Sept.15,1867.
John Edward Leishman b. Jan16,1881,res. at 322 Albany
St.,Bost.,parents were John E. and Mary E.(Sanderson),occupation of father
was beltmaker b. in Bost.,mother was b. in Natick,Ma.
Arthur Herbert Leishman was b. on June4,1890,parents were Joseph
H. and Angelina,res. was 799 Parker St.,Bost.,he was b. in Bost.,mother was
born in Fayal,Azores.
The 1911 street directory for Boston shows the following

Nettie L.,dressmaker, h. at 35 Cliff St.,Rox.
Finally,the 1927 street directory shows:
Chas. A. Leishman,receiver,378 Stuart St.,res. at
Waltham,Ma.
John,chauffeur,h. 30 Sturbridge,Mattapan(Boston)
Mary E.,widow of John E. died on May27,1926.
