Hi there,

not sure if this will help but....
Captain Joseph Babson was an early settler of Sedgwick, Hancock County, Maine.
Solomon York, who married a Betsey Babson 29 Nov 1788 in Gloucester, MA also took up residence as very close neighbors in Sedgwick at about the same time as the Babson move to the same area in Maine.

It is for this reason, that I conclude that Solomon York's wife Betsey was the daughter of Joseph Babson and Martha Somes.

I have not researched the Putnam's but, if they too, migrated to Hancock County, Maine... then maybe there are some issues that need to be resolved here.

I realize it's been about six years since your original post... but maybe you have learned something since then and would be willing to share.

Thanks,

Miles
