Oh hy gosh!
Hello, I am hoping that we are looking for the same Babers.... I don't have much info.
According to my uncle "Otho Lee Gregory My great-grandfathers name was George Washington & he married a Kizzie Martin. I believe that my grandmother might be the daughter of your (hopefully "our") G.W.Baber & Kizzie Martin. My grandmother was Sarah Abye Baber and she was from GA. She and her husband (George Burk Gregory) lived in Winnsboro, Tx. and I am almost positive that this is in Wood County. My dad (William David Gregory)was born in 1915 in Winnsboro and he had one older brother Otho Lee and two younger brothers George Lester and Claudie ?. Claudie died very young 16 or 18 and my uncle George (which we called G.L.) had a brain tumor and was paralyzed from about age 20 (all of my life)and always lived with my grandmother in Winnsboro and died several years ago, My dad died in 1981 and my uncle Otho is still living in Garland Texas, I believe he just turned 86 years old. I live in a small town S.E. of Dallas. I am married and I have 2 children (1 girl & 1 boy).
I'm so excited! I'll be checking this site often hoping to hear back from you.
