Esther was the dau of Nathaniel Babb and Jane/Jennie Foster. I believe she had an out of wedlock son, Samuel Peleg Sprague Babb b 1819. The father was mostly likely Peleg Sprague b 1793 d 1880. She married John Fenderson Jr. in 1821 in Machias, ME. Esther and John had 5 children, the last being born in 1831. In 1844, John Jr was mentioned as deceased in his father's will. We believe he died about 1830-32, as Esther would have continued to produce children as she was in her early thirties. Verbal family history is that John Jr was a merchant and went to Boston to buy supplies and never returned. Most likely he was killed for the money he must have had with him. Possible that he ran away from his wife and children. When their son William married in 1894, both John and Esther were listed as deceased.
Seeking info on whatever happened to Samuel Peleg Sprague Babb, who may have been raised in the Fenderson household.
Seeking info on whatever happened to Esther after John disappeared.
Esther and John are my 3rd great grandparents.
