Hello Carolyn, For over 150 years our family has not known the parents of our Rev. John Wallace. Just tonight I find perhaps at least, the correct spelling of his Mother's name. There have been rumors that his parents a number of folks that have all proved wrong; however, there were some that did truely believe that a John Wallace (Sr.) and Nancy Matilda De Saussure (misspelled Sanssere, Sansierre, and many other ways which of course provided nothing by way of a family history.) It is said that she was born abt 1730 in Columbia SC. It is also thought that she was John Wallace Sr.'s 2nd wife and that she had two sons William and John Wallace. After the Revolutionary War both sons moved to Daviess County Indiana (then simply Indian Territory)where John became a circuit rider for the Methodist Church, dying in 1822. As I find nothing but your posting about any family of this surname, I would be indebted if you can tell me where to begin to search or if you recognize these names and places.
Regards,Donna Crosby
