I have a question concerning two of your posts with respect to Albin Azbill(s):
First one:
"AB" Albin Azbill
Albin Azbill, was born in Kentucky. He was the son of James Asbill and Mahalia Jane Becknell. On September 13. 1901, he married Matilda Cruse, the daughter of Andrew Jackson Cruse and Matilda Azbill. Some of the citizens of Richmond, Kentucky have said, "Ab" Azbill can preach better than most preachers, he can blacksmith better than most blacksmiths, he can carpenter better than most carpenters and he has the grit of a grisly bear," Both Ab and Matilda had remarkable memories and also help in Azbill's publishings. They are typical Azbills likable and wonderful people.
and 2nd one:
ALBIN AZBILL
Albin Azbill, son of James Azbill and Mahalia Jane Becknell was born about 1835. He married Margaret Cruse. They had the following children and grandchildren;
1. Sherman Azbill married Betty Becknell (1) daughter of William "Will" Becknell and Elizabeth Lowman; (2) Mahalia Azbill, daughter Wiley Azbill and Emaline Crutcher; (3) Sarah Margaret Becknell, daughter of Sylvester Becknell and Nancy Becknell.
So my question is, are these Albin Azbill's one and the same? If so that means that Matilda Cruse was his 2nd wife (and niece), married when he was about 66 years old.
If they are different Albin's, based on the Cruse information it might be possible that Ab, wife of Matilda Cruse, was the son of Wiley Azbill and Emaline Crutcher (brother of James, Mahalia Cruse's husband) and could not be the son of James Azbill and Mahalia Jane Becknell.
