Walnut Grove, AZ

I have a copy of a rather lengthy article from the Arizona Champion Newspaper dated 3-1-1890 where it lists many people who were drowned when the Big Dams at Walnut Grove burst.

One of the people listed is a Mr. Casner, laborer. It seems that nine additional bodies were located at Wickenburg.

I would have thought the deaths would have been listed in the AZ Death Index that is online, but I checked several of the names and none were listed.

Is/Was Walnut Grove in Yavapai County in 1890?
Does anyone have any suggestion as to how one might find additional information concerning the persons who were drowned?

I'm endeavoring to determine who the "Mr. Casner" may have been.
