Each state should have records of existing or defunct business operations. If mining in the
early 20th century was controlled by the federal government, there should be info from that source as well.
I looked up the Securities and Exchange Commission website - http://www.sec.govhttp://www.sec.gov - and
they had a LINK to:
- http://www.unclaimed.org/mainframe.asp?VisitorType=ownerhttp://www.unclaimed.org/mainframe.asp?VisitorType=owner - National Association of
Unclaimed Property Administrators (help in regaining property, including lost certificates, uncollected dividends, or other lost investment instruments).
Why not try the state first, then the federal government ? One of the options is to choose a state for more information. If you choose ARIZONA you get:
Arizona
Department of Revenue
Unclaimed Property Unit
P.O. Box 29026
Phoenix, AZ 85038-9026
