You're so right. This is truly a mess. There is so much information out there, obviously some of it wrong/some right.
On the 1880 Tom Green Co., Texas federal census, Margaret Jones is living at Dwelling/Family #66/66. She is listed as either a widow {which she definitely was not} or divorced. I guess it is possible she could be divorced from Tilman Jones {not with her on this census, but still alive}. Or, it could be a mistake on the census taker's part. Not sure. The next census Margaret appears on is the 1900 Graham Co., Arizona census, also the 1910 Graham Co. census and on both she is listed as Margaret/Maggie Wilkerson. Alex Wilkerson was her second husband. Tilman is still alive then and didn't die until 1918 in Cochise Co., Arizona. Puzzle! Divorce is probably the best possibility, but I haven't been able to find any record of it.
Next door to her @ #65/65 are her parents: Anderson Perry Sanders {some researchers say Albert Perry Sanders} and Margaret Louisa Lemmonds {various spellings}, also her brother James {This is my great grandfather, James Anderson Sanders, who married in 1883.}.
Living next to them are:
# 67/67 are Margaret's brothers Felix and Albert, both teenagers but living together in a separate dwelling.
#68/68 is Margaret's sister Sarah McEuen & family
#63/63 is Margaret's sister Mary Watts & family
#69/69 is Margaret's brother P.W. {Perry Wallace} family
According to my great grandmother, Veliar Jones Sanders, granddaughter of the above A. P. Sanders {Saunders} her father's name was Tilman H. Jones. I've also wondered about the "Alexander."
