Circa 1770's, source- purchase contract: My VERDUGO ancestor bought land from a BARRAGAN but I don't know the location yet (Sonora-AZ area, or Los Angeles, CA).The parties had some social stature because terms "dona" & "gov" were used in this Spanish handwritten document. El gov Jose Ma. Verdugo bought a rancho called "La Alameda" from dona Dolores Urrea de Calvo, the inheritance from her dec. mother dona Luisa BARRAGAN de Urrea.
