CASNER SURNAME
Are there any CASNER/CARSNER researchers/descendants lurking about reading this message board. I would like to hear form you.
My particular Casner/Carsner line has been traced back to the late 1700s in VA. They migrated to MO circa 1818 and beginning in 1822 made their way to IA. In 1852 most of them migrated to OR. From there they spread to WA,CA,AZ, TX, NM. Only one family left MO (that of Henry Casner and Jincy Fields). They had 12 sons and one daughter (my line is that of the daughter). in the early 1870s there was a split in the family; several of the brothers migrated to AZ where they remained; this group retained the spelling CASNER. Those that remained in OR/WA/CA changed the spelling to CARSNER. However, in CA, they are found under both spellings.
There is also a very large CASNER line in CA that came out of TX. Some people may think they are two different lines, however, we have found the connection and they are of the same line.
I have most of the ancesterial information on those that remained in AZ, but have a few gaps.Would like to fill those gaps.
Would like to hear form CASNER/CARSNER researchers/descendants. Perhaps we can help each other fill in some gaps.
