So, what state are you in? I'd like to know before I
plunge in headlong and wind up with no help from
the other end. I have done this kind of work before,
but selfishly would like to know that you will be able
to help me too.
Yes, I know that the AZ Republic for example, is
charging fees that ordinary humans cannot and do
not wish to pay. They have also had their online
search function shut down for quite awhile, I believe
just to force people into the larger fee. I wonder
how they stay in business. By the way, which
newspapers to you need to have looked at?
Have you tried to access them online (besides the
Republic)? I have obtained some obits that way
from other states, depending on the paper.
Thru research I have discovered that not all libraries
in AZ carry all of the newspapers published in AZ, so it
will depend on what you want. Some of the library
copy fees aren't all that great either. Better than
$50 an hour though.
