Arizona Republic, Friday, 27 Apr 1962, page 23: "El Mirage - Arlen A. Smith, 74, an Arizona resident since 1929, died here yesterday. The funeral will be at 10 a.m., Monday, in Paradise Chapel, 3934 E. Indian School. The Rev. Everett Crimmings will officiate. Mr. Smith was born in Lampasas, Texas. He had been a resident of El Mirage the last six years. He operated a service station before his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Polly; a son, Noble, of Phoenix; a daughter, Mrs. Benita Haverfield, of Tulsa, Okla.,; and 13 grandchildren. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday."
A funeral notice in the paper dated Sunday, 28 Apr 1962, says "interment will be at Glendale Memorial Park". There's no mention in the paper of a car crash from 27 to 30 April.
Arizona Republic, 28 Dec 1964, page 40: "Mrs. Polly G. Smith, of 608 S. 40th Ave., died yesterday in a Phoenix hospital. Mrs. Smith was a native of Arkansas. She had been a resident here since 1941. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, in A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams. Officiating will be Rev. John Foster of the 35th Avenue Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Mrs. A. C. Haverfield of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Noble A., of Phoenix; a sister, Mrs. Callie Riley of Phoenix; two brothers, George Branham of Phoenix and Cordia Branham of Hartford, Ark.; and 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren." The funeral notice dated 30 Dec says "interment will be at Glendale Memorial Park".
Arizona Republic, 9 May 1980, page B-2: "Tucson - Services for Noble Lee Smith, 77, who was a self-employed barber, and lived in Arizona 55 years, will be at 2 p.m. today in the Prince Chapel Church, 17th Street and Stone Avenue. Mr. Smith, 2017 Calle Pacifica, died May 3, 1980, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital. He is survived by two sisters, Bertha Rollins and Leora Moore. Universal Memorial Center handled arrangements."
