Arizona State Mental Hospital in Phoenix

In 1899 my great great grandfather John Fletcher FAIRCHILD passed away in the Arizona State Mental Hospital in Phoenix. His obituary says he was buried in Phoenix, I wonder where he would have been buried? I could use a bit of help with a few things... Is the hospital still operating ? Was there a graveyard on the property or one nearby that the hospital used ? Were the records from the mental hospital saved? Does anyone know ? Any help would be great.
Thank You,
Karen in B.C.
