Maimi's history is mining. During the late 1800's her sister city of Globe was the site of copper mines, gold and silver strikes. Maimi came to being in about 1907. Copper prices fell and rose as they do today. About 1910 the Inspiration Copper Mine built its reduction plant/mill, hence the nickname of Concentrator City. Most of the residents were working for the mines, mills, concentrators, or merchants. There is a funeral home in Maimi that is to have old records. Good Luck!
