Sue

Cochise County is the correct county for Douglas Arizona. Douglas is located about 30 miles East of Bisbee, the County Seat. It is on the border between U.S. and Mexico. It was a boom town for many years while Phelps Dodge operated a copper smelter just west of town. Douglas now depends mostly on its border connection and its retirement communities since the smelter was closed and dismantled. Marriage records, land records, and court records should all be located in Bisbee, Arizona at the Court House or Recorder's office. Birth and death certificates are kept by the State of Arizona Deptartment of Health.

Marriage records start in 1881. I can look up marriage records for you if you give me some specifics.
