Thank you Carol. I'll try the sites you suggested. When you said they were they whole town, did you mean the Sanchezes, Mendozas or Valdezes? I know that in 1962, Valdezs were the only ones living in Gleeson.
Raymond Sanchez was by grandfather by marriage to my grandmothe Maria Luisa Noriega Gonzalez. The other two families had been friends to the De la Garza and Gonzalez families for several years. I think their friendship started in Mexico and resumed when they moved to Douglas and Gleeson. I have alot of pictures of the Mendozas and they were listed on my mother and aunts christening papers as Godparents. I thought if I could locate one of their descendants, I might be able to find out more about my family.
My biggest mystery is my grandfather Pedro N. Noriega who was first married to Maria Luisa Gonzalez. He worked for the Southern Pacific RR and was killed in a work related accident in either 1930 or 31. No records of him in the states and I believe when he died it was at the rr workyards in Aqua Prieta. Haven't been able to get a contact there to check obits for me or see if there was something in the paper. Have desperatly tried to find info on him for years whith no sucess. He was 27 in 1931 when my mother Olga Noriega was born.
