Hi All, I'm researching my husband's SMITH/FAUNTLEROY line in Virginia. I am looking for information on the following: William AYERS/AYRES d 1705, Essex Co., VA issued marriage license 4/7/1694, Essex Co., VA to marry Anne SMITH Sources: Virginia Vital Records #1, 1600s - 1800s, 180, William Ayres gets license to marry Anne Smith Essex Co., VA Marriage Licenses Reverse Order BK 1692-1695 pg 285. Virginia Vital Records #1, 1600s - 1800s, 63, Essex County Virginia Rent Roll 1704 shows marriage license issued William Ayres & Anne Smith 4/7/1694. Virginia Vital Records #1, 1600s - 1800s, Essex County, VA Rent Roll 1704 d 1705 Essex Co., VA. Ann SMITH d/o William SMITH (1643, Virginia d bef 6/9/1684, Rappahannock Co., VA)& Grace W. b abt 1650, VA d aft 6/9/1684, Rappahannock Co., VA(unknown surname) William SMITH s/o Tobias Toby SMITH (b abt 1616, England -- d abt 1658, "Nutmegge Quarter" Warwick, Old Rappahannock Co., VA and Phoebe FAUNTLEROY (b abt 1617, England -- d aft 4/15/1658, Rappahannock Co., VA) William SMITH & Grace W. had at least three children; 1. Grace b abt 1676 2. Anne b abt 1676 m William AYERS/AYRES 3. Elizabeth b bef 1670, probably VA d ?? m John CORBIN (1671, VA -- 1738, VA) These are my husband's 6th great grandparents. I also show a daughter Katherine AYRES/AYERS m Thomas EVATT in Essex Co., VA. Although much research has been done on these families, all information has not be verified. Please excuse any errors.
