A LORD IN THE FAMILY!!! I'm shocked but somehow not surprised. First priority is to try and obtain the identities of the other Ayre family members in Leicester place, especially Miss Ayre.
If our Relatives are not brother and sister then at least cousins. The stupid thing is you have better access to family info in Austrailia than we do here. I'll try to check out the two William Ayre's and the mine, but don't hold your breath.
When I get the chance I will get a fuller version of the information that I sent to you printed out with the later generations. As with you I am having trouble establishing a place of birth for my Ayre relative. Hull seems the obvious but without a christian name I can't go any further at present.
We do seem to agree on our Ayres being a high status family. Dont forget the E-mail address
is a phoney as I do not have one.
