I am researching the Beardsmore family, including Rachel Beardsmore who married Joseph Ayre September quarter of 1874 in Houghton le Spring district, Durham. I found Joseph and family on the 1881 census in Houghton le Spring but no further trace on subsequent censuses. Did they emigrate, and if so, to which country?
