PRéFEN supports there were no Jacques Boucher or Francoise Paigne in St-Jean de Mortagne. Although a few Gaspar Boucher resided in the general area they were not of St-Jean. It is highly plausible that his parents were Jacques and Francoise. I'll re-check this out. They also cannot support a relationship between Gaspar, Marin and Jeanne. I'm glad you are open to other possibilities.

I could be mistaken re serge or Michel as first names.

Please feel free to contact me directly through my e-mail address. You have rekindled a flame for research! I will return to Saint-Boniface, the Historical Society and their library - my major sources for documents. Looking at microfilms for names and dates can be tedious.
