Interesting! Would that be Serge Nadeau?

Aside from ongoing research for event dates, there are only two major items I am attempting to understand:
a. the link between Etienne Hayot-Marticot and Francoise Daguet to his alleged parents Jean-Francois Hayot and Josepthe Rousseau; and
b. why my great-great-grandfather Benoit and his sons changed their name from Marticotte to Massicotte.

Through the efforts of the Massicotte Org. I am in contact with a second cousin using the name Massicotte who is also a Marticotte by lineage through Benoit and his wife Sophie Bernier, and their sons Joseph and Georges. Small world indeed!

We know that Marin and Jeanne Boucher were brother and sister. However, their parents are most probably Pierre and Roberte PARENT for they are the only couple residing in the parish of St-Jean de Mortagne who had a female child born in that time frame named Jeanne; albeit on 01 May 1601. There are 12 entries for Jehanne or Jeanne Boucher for the period 1600 to 1610 on record in Mortagne-au-Perche and five of these are baptism; however, only one is listed for the Church and Parish of St-Jean and coincides with her declarations. Generally, Jeanne's year of birth is listed as about 1607. The year is taken from information she provides to census takers. She also states her place of birth as St-Jean-de-Mortagne. My source is PréFEN.

Awaiting your next post.
