The name Marticotte appears among Ayotte who where establised in the region of Montmagny at the end of the years 1700.
I found Étienne Ayotte-Marticotte who married Marie-Geneviève Bonneau dit Labecasse on 2 february 1790 at the parish St-Thomas in Montmagny. He was the son of Étienne Ayotte-Marticotte.

They are in the line of Jean Ayotte and Sainte Grondin.

I dont think that the name Marticotte was given to Thomas Hayot.

Michel
