Aylward Family Genealogy Forum

Meta-Anne, thankyou for this wonderful followup to my own posting on the Alywards of Chichester. As i said in that message, one of my ancestors was Theodore Alyward, the organist for Queen Charlotte. He is buried in St.George's Chapel, Windsor. My own research has confirmed or has shared your conjecture on many of the connections you establish in this posting. You have given me another daughter to Theodore and ann, namely Henrietta (1699) that I knew nothing about and an Ann (1711) to which i was equally oblivious. I also believe that the Henry who married Ann and produced Ann, Mary and Henry was the son of the 1675 Henry, himself the son of John. I think that Ann Aylward (1709) married William Brown in 1732. The perplexing one for me is the Henry who married Ann Wheeler -too young to be the 1711 Henry so perhaps it is a second marriage for the Henry whose first wife was also called Anne! Also I am not sure that the HEnry Aylward who married in 1769 is the same Henry born in 1727 although there it is plausible that he was a late bloomer and married when he was 42! I also agree that he probably married twice, first to Jane Hrdham and then to Sarah Penn. MY grandmother always said there was a connection to William Penn in the family (maybe this is it!). I conjecture that their son was Thomas Aylward who married Elizabeth Price in 1802 and their son was William Price Aylward who was mayor of Salisbury.
Thankyou for giving me my henrietta and Ann and sharing conjectures that i have also made!
