I am a descendent of Richard Aylward who was born in Kilkenny, Ireland in 1845. He married Elizabeth Knox, who was born in Kilkenny, Ireland on 2-24-1848. Richard Aylward's family emigrated to the Chicago area in the 1860s. Richard and Elizabeth were married in Chicago on March 17, 1870. Richard was killed as a result of a fall from a runaway horse.
Children of Richard and Elizabeth:
Michael, 6-1871
Anna, 7-21-1872
Mary, 1876
Margaret, 11-18-1878
Johanna, 10-16-1882
Philip James, 6-12-1883
John T., 7-17-1885
Richard W., 10-28-1886
Robert Leroy, 6-16-1886

Michael died as an infant. Anna, Mary, Margaret, and Johanna (Lola) were taken in and boarded at their cousin, Anastatia Knox after their mother died in 1902.
Margaret Powers was married to Thomas Knox, Elizabeth's brother. There were Kennedy relatives of Philip Aylward here is South Dakota. The Knox/Doherty oral history has a story about the Aylward's running a bar in Chicago.
I am a son of Margaret Mary Aylward, Philip Aylward's daughter, and son of Richard Aylward and Elizabeth Knox. The names match up. Is this the same Richard Aylward?
