I have been searching for information on Nathan Ellsworth/Aylesworth (my g-g-grandfather), his parents/ancestry or siblings. (The Mormon Church's genealogical search site shows a Nathan Ellsworth born 12/31/1824 to William and Hannah (Potter) Ellsworth in Woodville, New York. Hannah was William's second wife. They were married 23 Jan 1810, Oneida, NY. William is shown as Born: Abt. 1785 Pownal, Bennington, Vermont. Died: 6 Jul 1836, , NY Buried: Woodville Cem., Ellisburgh Twp., NY. (William is the son of Henry Aylesworth/Elsworth b. about 1754 Pownal, Vermont, son of John, son of John, son of Arthur Aylesworth.) I am unable to find any additional information that might help verify Nathan's parentage. However, Nathan's 4th and 5th children were named William and Hannah. (The first born and second born children were named for his wife's parents.) Nathan may have been his middle name, or possibly a derivative of Nathaniel.
Nathan Ellsworth(Aylesworth) b.?/?/1824?in ??? - on 1/1/1846 in Blackford Co., Ind. he married Sabra Shinn, (b. 7/2/1828 in Tyler Co., Va. She was the thirteenth and youngest child of Daniel and Mary Whiteman Shinn) There were eight children from this marriage:
1. Daniel Perry Ellsworth b. 1/7/1848
2. Mary Elizabeth Ellsworth b 12/17/1849
3. Electa Ann Ellsworth b. 5/6/1852
4. William Henry Ellsworth b. 1/31/1855; ob 1861
5. Hannah Roseltha Ellsworth b. 5/28/1857
6. Icedora Ellsworth b. 10/16/1859;
7. Sabrina Jane Ellsworth b. 11/20/1862; ob. 1864
8. Laura Luetta Ellsworth b. 12/21/1864; ob. 1874
