I have been searching for information on both Lewis Malone Ayer, Sr and Jr. My husband is a ggg-grandsone of LMA,Sr. I ran across this message from a few years back while surfing for information on the Ayer family. We have been up to the Barnwell area researching the Aldrich family, (Martha Ayer, daughter of Sr, and Rebecca Erwin, married A.P. Aldrich) when we first found out his relationship to the Ayer family.
A local historian/genealogist from Barnwell is also related to LMA Sr by the first wife, and provided us with a picture of Lewis Malone Ayer Jr. Since then we have obtained additional information on his works. This is the only picture we have obtained. Please let me know a resource for a picture of LMA Sr, or any other pictures of Jr. I will check on any pictures of Patmos the next time we go to Barnwell and visit the Historical Society. You never know what might turn up.
