Patmos

I just found this site by surfing my name +"surnames" and got to you. I am amazed and pleased to write to you. LMA, Jr. was my great great grandfather. I have three books that he wrote and have hundreds of pages of copies from the collection at the South Caroliniana Library, etc. etc. I don't believe the plantation of Patmos or Runnymede were there after the War.I think Sherman fired everything and I heard from Archie in Olar, So. Ca. that piano wires could be heard exploding because neighbors put up many in the attic at Patmos to avoid them being destroyed by the Enemy. If you have any information about this, let's talk some more. I have not used this forum but once or twice as I am a slow typer. It would be wonderful to see a picture of one of them. I was taken to where the Mill pond was by an older gentleman who has since passed away. He showed me where Patmos stood and the Cemetery close by with Ayer ancestors. Do you know of it or anything else. I have plenty more and would like to share with someone .
