AARON AXTELL was born in Grafton, VT, in 1807, came to Pike, N.Y., in 1822, and to Perry, Wyoming Co., NY, in 1834, was married to SARAH MARIA CANFIELD, of Pike, in 1835, and died in 1877. He was a member of the Baptist church, as is his widow, who lives with her daughter, Mrs. M.A. Ward, milliner, at Perry village. His son, Abner Axtell, enlisted in Company H of the Cameron dragoons in 1861, and died of smallpox at Georgetown, in 1862.
