I am helping a descendent of Ranald Axtell's wife, Helen Deveau-Crawford-Axtell trace his family history.
The descendent and his sister were adopted by Ranald Axtell after he married Helen,their mother, in 1935 in Bozeman,MT.We are hoping that someone might know who Helen's first husband was. her grandson was told that it was a man whose surname was Crawford.
the only other information that the grandson was given was that Ranald was a professor at Montana state College(now University),and that he was a rancher.
