Martha Axon of London

Looking for help on the origins of the surname Axon.
Have just discovered that the maiden name of my G-G-G-Grandmother was Martha Axon. She was born in the City of London around 1817, and married William Beton. I have not been able so far to find out any more about her.
Would dearly love to know the origin/meaning of the surname Axon, or to hear from people with Axons in London at the same time.
Thank You.
