I am descended from Joel Axford who immigrated to Australia in Febuary 1855 on the "Gypsy Bride" arriving in Victoria. He was 19 and came from Gwennap in Cornwall. According to my late great-Aunt, Joel had a brother go to South Australia and a brother go to America.
I noticed when I looked up the shipping Lists that there was a William Axford come over with a Mary Axford in Febuary 1855 on the "Goldfinder" aged 23. I don't know if they are brothers or not, but I wondered! Do you know where your William Axford was from in Cornwall, or who his parents were? Joel's parents are a John Axford and Ann Vivian. I would be really interested to know if we are related!
