I forgot to mention that your family has three memorial stones in the floor of Bath Abbey - one is unfortunately covered by a false wooden floor but the others are easy to find. Your London group (the first name I have found being a William Axford) seems to have moved to London in the 1800s. The family has the Isaac/Hannah Lightfoot tradition and seems to have originally moved to Bath (then a small town) from the vicinity of Erlestoke in the period 1650-1700. There is one Isaac in the Bath group and several Benjamins. On the whole they were fairly well-to-do although one went bankrupt. The most well-known member was John Axford who was Mayor of Bath in the 1700s. There are still the "Axford" buildings in Bath which are referred to by Jane Austin as as being not satisfactory accomodation from her point of view. There is quite a lot of information available but I do not have it hand at present.
