My father's stepfather, Wm. Howard Fletcher, gave me his copy of "Historical Collections of the State of New Jersey",published 1844. I have no idea if this book was in his family or if he acquired it second-hand. However, in the section on Oxford, Warren County, the following note is written in pencil in the margin (capitalization is mine): "Uncle John YOUNG,a son of old Jacob, married into this AXFORD family. John YOUNG married Nancy RAMSEY. her mother's maiden name was AXFORD."
Hope this helps someone. I have no known connection to any of these surnames.
