First: John Axford married Joanna Biles Beakes, daughter of Samuel Beakes and Johanna Biles. She is named in Samuel's will. Samuel was an early Quaker. I have quite a bit of information on Samuel Beakes and William Biles, father of Johanna Biles.

About John Axford: records are very conflicting, but I think Jonathon Axford who married Lana Pace was the son of Jonathon Axford married to Lydia who died in NJ in 1806, and grandson of John and Joanna Beakes. John and Abigail's son Jonathon, I think, was Dr. Jonathon Axford who married Penelope and/or Ellen Kinney, and died 1818. William Armstrong in "Axfords of Oxford NJ" stated lineage you show- but same man in "Hunt Households of NJ" shows lineage I am giving. My husband descends from Dr. Jonathon, and his children went to Oakland Co MI. Have lots of data. Contact me at "berrydan@juno.com".
