Alice AWBREY, b. ca. 1577//Charles AWBREY, b. ca. 1505

I am seeking information on an Alice OABERY, who was born probably ca. 1477 and married ca. 1594 John SAVAGE (1577-1609) of Clifton, Cheshire, England, son of John SAVAGE (1550-1615) and Mary ALLINGTON (ca. 1550-1635). I suspect that she was of the Brecknockshire AWBREYs but have found no evidence that this was the case. The SAVAGEs were based in Cheshire but had deep connections with southern Wales; Sir John SAVAGE (ca. 1478-1527) had extensive land holdings there and commanded Henry VII Tudor's left wing at Bosworth Field on the occasion of Henry's invasion of England through Wales in 1485.

Alice may possibly have had some connection with a Charles AWBREY (b. ca. 1505) of Cantriff, Brecknockshire, whose daughter and heir, Jane, married George HOLFORD (b. ca. 1534) of Dutton, Cheshire. The HOLFORDs and the SAVAGEs had numerous family connections in common (BOOTH, BRERETON, DUTTON, MOLYNEUX, VENABLES, VERNON), and George HOLFORD and the John SAVAGE who married Alice OABERY were remotely cousins, as both were descendants of John SAVAGE and Maud de SWYNNERTON.

Can anyone place either Alice or Charles?
