Lonne,

Many of the family members changed the spelling of their last name to AVERY/AVERYT. Alexander AVERA & Thomas AVERA (both died 1761) resided for a time in Craven County just prior to the formation of Johnston County. They lived on land that became Johnston County. I have Lewis AVERA born about 1761 in Johnston County. He was the son of Alexander AVERA that died 1792 in Johnston Co., NC. Lewis left NC and migrated westward into Georgia and possibly died in Greene Co., AL.

I don't have information on your Lewis AVERA born 1794 in Craven County. If I find such information, then I will let you know.

Teresa
