Well, here are some more AVERY/STEVENS (and RUMMERFIELD) connections for you (and me) to puzzle about.Anthony RUMMERFIELD is mentioned in a history of Pickering, Ontario. In his will (written in Huron Co., Ohio, in 1818), he mentions a granddaughter, Amy STEVENS/STEPHENS (both spellings appear). There's no mention of her mother, presumably deceased, or of her father.According to another source, Anthony's known daughter, Jane, was born in 1793 in Canada and married Ebenezer AVERY.Jane and Ebenezer evidently had a son named Alexander. In the 1870 census of Lexington, Sanilac Co., Michigan, I find Jane AVERY, 77, and her brother, Samuel RUMMERFIELD, 74, living in the household of Alexander AVERY, 50.It says Alexander was born in Canada. In 1880, Samuel RUMMERFIELD, 84, is still in Alexander's household, but Jane is not. However, Alexander now has another addition to his household -- a Mary STEVENS, 77, born in Canada.I've just recently found some of this info, so I must leave it as the puzzle it is for now.
