Averitt Family "Little Black Book" written by Will F Averitt

I have a small ring-bound black book that was typed by Will F. Averitt in about 1952. I didn't realize he had published the book, "The First 300 Years", until I started to check out some of the information on the web. This little black book was left to my father by my grandfather Averitt Benjamin Cockrell, son of Dona (Donie, possibly Sophronia) Averitt.

Dona was the daughter of Louis William Averitt and Nannie Thorn. In this record, Louis William Averitt (born April 23, 1852) son of Tom or T.M. Averitt (born in 1819 and died July 7, 1893) and Rebecca Lemay. They were married on September 11 1846. Tom Averitt is buried in Bogota, Texas.

It's not clear who Tom's father was. The writer suggests that he could have been th son of Chappel Averitt, an indian fighter in Tennesse and Kentucky. However in his book (which I'm assuming was written after the record in my possesion), there is a Chappel Averitt born in 1821.

If anyone has info on Tom Averitt b. 1819 d. 1893, I'd love to know.
