Charlene, we have corresponded before. I am checking if you have any new data on Arthur Averitt; he married Chloe Jones, the widow of John Greer, and mother of John Greer, Jun.It is the son John Greer,Jun (that is the name that John Greer gave him) I am interested in now. He grew up in the Arthur Averett household and I am sure that Chloe Jones Greer Averett had children by Arthur Averett.
In about 1820 John Greer is found in Rutherford, Tenn with his family showing his birth in North Carolina. Although he prob married Deborah (Debby) (last name unknown) in Onslow County, NC. Now we need to locate a last name for Debby. We have his family identified with the following children's names, Nathan, Zadoc, Stephen, Sally, Lottie, etc. and names that I see in Averett queries. I cannot locate a marriage record for John and Debby. Are all records for 1775 and later available? I am hoping you have found more on Arthur than I could find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
