Drury Averett was born in S.C. 1790 He married Elizabeth Smith in Hancock Co., Ga. Aug. 23, 1808. Their children were Mary, Sarah, born Hancock Co., Ga. Nancy, John,Louraney, W. Allen,Drury W.and Henry James born Talbot Co.,Ga. That part of Talbot is now Taylor Co. In 1860 census of Taylor, Drury was 70. He is not listed in 1870 census. The Averett family reunion is Sept. 6, at Mauk, Ga. school House
