My grandfather was Archie Latrobe Everett when he married my grandmother, Susan Rodden in Texas. They had 7 children. Later his brother John came in a covered wagon and said Archie had married a woman in Mexico and had other children named Grace and Pearl, etc. and was spelling his name as Avrit or Avritt. We also had Everitts in the area who looked the same. The story was that 5 brothers orphaned in England came to America as indentured to pay for their passage? I didn't know if this was my grandfather and his brothers who came directly from England or a previous generation. I have not learned how to access indentured people on ships, and I don't know where they landed. Does this relate to anything you know? Since he left the family when my mother was a baby, she could not tell me much. One of my uncle's sons was William L. Everett, possibly a family name used before. Since Mother was the 7th child born in 1906,Grandmother might have married about 1894, and she might have been bout 1876, and maybe he was born about 1872? I appreciate any information. Thanks, Sarah Fleming, P.O.Box 127, Bogata, TX 75417 Phone 903 632-4508 or Email smjf_2000@yahoo.com
