Ben,
My grandfather grew up on a tobacco farm near Roxboro, NC. He was born Dec. 15, 1915. His father was William Ollie Averett and his mother was Lona Strum. As far as I know, they lived in that area all of their lives. I need help too, because the spelling of the name changes so much and the counties of NC have undergone so many changes. In my grandfather's siblings, they have Averett and Averette as spellings. If we're connected somehow let me know.
