Thanks for the Floyd info.Very much appreciated. It certainly does not surprise me to learn that the Floyds were in James Citty Va in 1623.
I also have Richard Wlbourn in James Citty Va in 1624.I cannot connect him to my Wilburn ancestors, but feel certain that he must be an unproved ancestor. The first Wilburn that I can positively identify as a direct ancestor is Richard Wilburn b c 1690 in Middlesex Co Va c 1712, if not sooner..
Lots of the families that Wilburns married into by 1750, were also descendants of those who arrived in VA c 1623.
So your info pretty much goes with the flow.
To answer your question re: Floyds and when and where...Well, I am just beginning to understand and uncover a few Floyd families and it isthanks to people like you who have kindlyshared your heritage and research on line.
Anyone namedIsaac Floyd is of interest to me.
I suspect that Isaac Floyd Wilburn b. 1801 in Lee Co VA???
is closely connected to an Isaac Floyd. And that this kinship might be in and/or around Wilkes Co NC before 1800.
I believe that there is a William Floyd in this family of an earlier generation. Some docs pertaining to Wilburns mention a William Floyd...I need to hunt this doc..somewhere it is buried beneath my rubble of research stuff..Sorry to be so poorly organized, when you are trying to provide assistance.
Guess for now, I cannot put on finger on any doc that will tell me what I need to convey...Some day it will happen and I will get back with you then.
Thanks so much for your time.
Cheers,
Vikky
