.Steve, I am just getting to know Genforum...I have been working on the Avent line for about a year now and have just mailed in my appl. for the DAR... I am a descendant of Col. Thomas Avent.... William Avent....John Avent...Rev. William Avent...Henry Evans Avent...Leonidas Hillary "Boney" Avent...my grandmother was Annie Lee Avent who married James Clement Betts, my maiden name...I have a few holes in my appl. of which I cannot confirm the entire line, I have been to NC Archives and gone through David Avants volumes, also have the Cleggs of old Chatham book. I have been trying to find a book about the Avents and their Kin??? Would like to know where else to get proof?? any help will be appreciated, thanks
