According to my records it goes something like this:
Col. Thomas Avent (1671-1757) m. Elizabeth (?)
their child
William Avent (1706-ca. 1761) m. Sarah Massie (1710-1785)
their child
Joseph Avent (ca. 1740 - ?) m. ?
their child
Joseph Avent (3/10/1796-4/1862) m. Judith rush Thomas (1802-1868)
their child
Glover Avent m. Cornelia Ann Partridge
