I am related to W.J. Avans, b.4 Apr. 1846 in TN. He is listed in the 1880 Census for Red River Co.,TX as a physician. He married Lida Hart, (a descendant of KY Harts)in Red River Co in 1879. His marraige is the earliest record of him that I have found in TX so I have no idea when he left TN. Does your family Bible have a listing for this person? Would you care to know more about him?
